A tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) is a type of game where players create and portray fictional characters within a structured framework of rules and guidelines. Unlike traditional board games where players compete against each other to achieve specific objectives, TTRPGs emphasize collaborative storytelling and improvisation.
TTRPGs can encompass a wide variety of genres and settings, from fantasy realms filled with dragons and wizards to futuristic sci-fi worlds or even historical settings. The rules and mechanics of each TTRPG system vary, offering players diverse options for gameplay and storytelling.
One of the defining aspects of TTRPGs is the freedom for players to shape the story through their characters' actions and decisions, often leading to unpredictable and dynamic narratives that evolve over multiple gaming sessions. Additionally, TTRPGs often foster strong social bonds among players as they collaborate to overcome challenges and explore imaginative worlds together.

Conflicts and disagreements happen everywhere and are unavoidable. By having these disagreements during play we can practice having useful communication around compromise.
Some tools we use to make sure things run smoothly include a session 0 where we talk about rules and expectations in the game. Not getting too invested in the game and talking about player feelings based on other players actions. Having GMs that identify and address problems before they get too big.
